Katie Hickey 1980 - 2006 Tuesday, August 8, 2006  It is with deepest sadness that I am writing to inform you of the unexpected death of Saint's shortstop Katie Hickey yesterday, Monday, August 7, 2006. In respect of her sudden passing, this week's games scheduled for Tuesday, August 8 and Wednesday, August 9 have been cancelled.Katie Hickey, a Watertown, MA native, has been a member of the NAWBL for 2 years and an incredible asset to the organization. This spring Katie was accepted into the police academy and was in the process of fulfilling her dream of becoming a Watertown Policewoman. Katie will not only be remembered as a feared hitter and an amazing infielder, but most importantly, as a great teammate and wonderful friend. We will all miss her smiles and laughter that accompanied her both on and off the ball field.   |
